I want to tell you something that doesn't get said enough in the leadership development world.

Most typical leadership coaching or development programs will sell you on the transformation, or a mindset shift, or even learning new skills. And that stuff can and does happen. What nobody shows you is what it looks like six months later, inside a real organization, with real people who still have hard days and complicated team dynamics and too much on their plates.

That's the part I care about most. And it's the part I want to share with you today, because we also have some really exciting news!

Committing to leadership team growth

I've been working with the team at Enabled Energy for a while now, and they are one of my favorite examples of what it looks like when an organization actually commits to this dynamic and hard work.

They're a Colorado-based company of about 40+ people, and are growing fast. When we started working together, they made a decision I don't see often: they started their coaching with their executive leadership team first and not the middle managers. These folks, the leaders at the top, went through our β€œLeader as Coach” program before anyone else did, because they wanted to make sure they could model what they were asking of their team. That kind of intentionality is rare, and it makes all the difference!Β

Twelve people across three cohorts have now completed the intensive program, and what they told us afterward stopped me in my tracks:

Most leaders don't realize there's a gap there until something cracks open and they finally have to live through it. But I know the conversations at Enabled Energy look different now: There’s more listening, more curiosity, less telling people what to do and more helping them figure it out themselves. Employees on the team (even new ones!) aren't waiting around to be directed anymore and instead, they're taking ownership.

Here's what Katie Staib, their Central Services Leader, shared with us:

"For me, the biggest impact has been watching our leaders lean into curiosity and listening. Conversations feel different now. They are more collaborative and more empowering. People aren't just waiting for direction; they're starting to take ownership and drive results."

Which brings me to the news

We are so thrilled to announce that β€œLeader as Coach” is now open for individual enrollment, and our next cohort is starting soon!

Up until now, Leader as Coach has only been available through organizations. But we've heard from too many individuals who want to do this work on their own terms, without waiting for their company to make it happen. So we opened it up for you to sign upβ€”TODAY! (And by the way… your company can still sponsor you to join!)

This is a 9-month coaching program built for high-potential contributors who are serious about their development. One hour a week, in a small cohort, with a dedicated coach and a printed participant guide that ships right to your door. Virtual, live sessions so you don't have to go anywhere in-person, but you do have to show up and put in the work.

This is not an impersonal seminar; it's not a rushed one-day offsite where someone crams theory at you and hopes it sticks. This is more about what we do best here at Bold Font: sustained leadership practice, built week over week, with the kind of repetition and reflection that actually rewires how you lead.

Cohorts are small by design, and spots fill fast. The next cohort starts July 2026β€”if you've been thinking about this, now is the time!

We can’t wait to get started,
Lauran Arledge
